What's the difference between an HRV and an ERV?

How often does an HRV need maintenance?

Clean or replace the filters every 2–3 months, and clean the heat exchange core once a year. The outdoor intake and exhaust hoods should be checked for blockage seasonally. We offer maintenance service if you'd prefer to have it done professionally.

Will an HRV make my house cold and drafty?

No. That's the whole point — the HRV recovers 70–80% of the heat from the outgoing stale air and transfers it to the incoming fresh air. You get fresh air without the energy loss of opening a window in January.
